James H. Neier, 95, of Washington, passed away on March 8, 2024. Mr. Neier, son of the late August Neier and Rose nee Zwicke, was born on March 9, 1928, in Washington. He received his education from St Francis Borgia High School. On February 5, 1948, he was united in marriage to Florene Homeyer.
Jim loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed making BBQ and cutting wood for the stove.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Florene Neier; three children, Mike Neier, Tim Neier, Sandy Neier; siblings, Sister Marie Neier, Bernice Dieckhaus, Leola Engemann, Louise Poepsel, Hans Neier, Buddy Neier, Rita Kuchem; daughter-in-law, Karol Neier; three brother-in-laws, Kenny Painter, Arlie Wessel, Jim Desmond, and sister-in-law, Penny Brown.
Among his survivors are five daughters, Karen Halley and husband Mike of New Haven, Kathy Sieges and husband Herm of Union, Pat Taylor and husband Chuck of Washington, Susie Amburgy and husband Mike of Caulfield, MO, and Pam Kimminau and husband Bill of Washington; two siblings, Virginia Painter of Dutzow and Rosemary Wessel of Washington; twenty three grandchildren, thirty four great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; brother-in-law, Claude Brown; sister-in-law, Helen Desmond; loved ones and many friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, from 9-10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, with a memorial mass beginning at 10 a.m. Memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association or the Ronald McDonald House.
