Jacqueline Krafft Obituary

Jacqueline D. “Jackie” Krafft, 86, of Washington, passed away on November 7, 2023. Jackie, daughter of the late Lester Mittler and Virginia Muench nee Graves, was born on May 7, 1937 in Washington. She received her early education in the Washington School District and graduated from Washington High School in 1955. Jackie attended the University of Missouri Columbia where she attained a bachelor’s degree of Science in Education. Jackie devoted her career to the Washington School District and loved teaching Kindergarten at South Point Elementary School from 1968 to 1993.

On August 14, 1955, she married her high school sweetheart, James C. Krafft at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Washington. This union was blessed with four children, James D., Joanna, Jennifer, and Julia.

Jackie had a zest for life. Her greatest loves were her family, friends, and former students. She was a lifelong Missouri Tigers fan. She enjoyed social gatherings and holidays. Her passion to educating children led her to write and publish three children’s books.

Jackie will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, an affectionate grandmother and great grandmother, and a dear friend to many. She will be forever etched into the hearts of her loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James C. Krafft and three in-laws, Debra Muench, William Ratliff, and Frances Mittler.

Among her survivors are her children, James D. Krafft and wife Kelly of Washington, Joanna “Jody” Krafft of Washington, Jennifer Kriete and husband Dale of Washington, and Julia Eckardt and husband John of Dallas, TX; siblings, Eric “Rick” Muench of Washington, Christy Ratliff of Ruston, LA, Jay Mittler and wife Barb of Washington, and Jon Mittler and wife Elaine of St. George, UT; grandchildren, Jeffrey Krafft, Jill Maurice, Jessica Richardson, Deanne Kriete, Daniel Kriete, Sarah Maune, Jordan Krafft, Anna Biernbaum, Leah Peppard, Leah Eckardt, Kayla Harshman, Stacy Butler, and Ryan Bain; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Krafft, Kaden Krafft, Aubrey Krafft, John Paul Richardson, Kolten Krafft, James Krafft, Walker Maune, Luke Henson, Wren Maune, and Adalyn Kriete; great-great-grandchild, Casen Hamann; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at St. Peter’s U.C.C. in Washington. The celebration of life will begin at 12 p.m. at St. Peter’s U.C.C. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Memorial donations can be given to WINGS.
