Izetta Skepeneit Obituary

Izetta A. Skepeneit, 80 , of Washington, passed away on April 9, 2023 in New Haven. Ms. Skepeneit, daughter of the late Waldemar Skepeneit and Mary nee Curran, was born on July 27, 1942 in St. Louis. She received her education from the Piedmont Public School system.

In her early adult years, one of her greatest loves was being the “Fun Aunt” to her nephews and niece and traveling. She was an avid Bingo player, and could be found most afternoons at the Washington Senior Center. Izetta was employed at Mercy Hospital in Washington, for over 40 years.

She was preceded in death by her father, Waldemar Skepeneit; mother, Mary Abrams and stepfather, Richard Abrams; sister, Eloise Young and two brothers-in-law, James Mann and John Adams.

Among her survivors are three sisters, Phyllis Mann of Eureka, Wilma Adams of Washington, and Joyce Mills and husband Jerry of Washington; brother-in-law, Gaylord Young of Washington; nephews and niece, Jeffrey Mann and wife Jessica, David Mann, Christopher Adams and wife Julie, Matthew Mills, Connie Adams, and Ryan Mills and wife Anais; great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 9-11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Washington, with a memorial service beginning at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Washington Senior Center, New Haven Care Center, or New Haven Hospice Care.
