Irene Biermann

Irene Biermann, 88 , of Washington, passed away on April 1, 2020. Mrs. Biermann, daughter of the late Emil Schmitt and his wife Anna NEE Marquart, was born April 7, 1931 in Washington. She received her education from St. Francis Borgia Regional High School. On May 8, 1954, she was united in marriage to Albert Biermann at St Francis Borgia Church. She was employed by Tradco, until her retirement in 1993.  Irene loved reading, crocheting, traveling, making ceramics, and most recently learning to paint beautiful landscapes. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and the ladies sodality.

Mrs. Biermann was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert Biermann and three siblings, Victor, Richard, and Mildred Schmitt.

Among her survivors are three children, Lou Ann Biermann of St. Louis, Don Biermann and wife Mary of Washington, and Tim Biermann and wife Fran of Union; two brothers, Kenneth Schmitt and wife Tudy of Washington and Virgil Schmitt and wife Arlean of Washington; sister, Alice Elbert of Washington; five grandchildren, Kevin (Jen) Biermann, Becky (Anne) Biermann, Katelyn (Drew) Roehrig, Amanda (Joe) Leesmann, and Nicholas (Jordan) Biermann; eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Esther Schmitt; other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Mass limited to ten people and for immediate family only will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2020, at 10:30 am at St. Ann's Church in Clover Bottom. Extended family and friends are welcome to watch the live stream of the Mass via www.facebook.com/NieburgVittMiller . The live video will begin shortly before the start of Mass. Interment will follow at the Church cemetery.
