Harold Brinker Obituary

Harold L. Brinker ,75, of Washington, passed away on November 25, 2023. Harold, son of the late Herbert G. Brinker and Hildegard nee Frankenberg, was born on December 5, 1947 in Washington. He received his education from St. Francis Borgia High School. On April 29, 1972, he was united in marriage to Diane Schroeder at St. Mary’s Church in Moselle.

Harold served his country honorably as a member of the United States Army. He was a member of VFW 2661 in Washington for over 50 years. Harold was also a past Commander at the VFW from 1991-1993 and an honor guard commander.

Harold was a carpenter and member of Local 1839 for over 50 years. He had many hobbies over the years, but a few of his favorites were hunting, playing cards, and shooting pool. But most of all, Harold loved his family, and Sunday morning breakfasts were a favorite of his and Diane’s.

Mr. Brinker was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Eddie Brinker and wife Donna, Verna Kosulic and husband Gene, Ralph Brinker and wife Jeannette, Lester Brinker, Rita Whitworth, James Brinker, and Donald “Duck” Brinker; sister-in-law, Connie Brinker, and three brother-in-laws, Matthias Herberholz, Rich Parmentier, and Bud Thacker.

Among his survivors are his wife, Diane Brinker of Washington; four children, Gary Brinker and wife Michelle of Wentzville, Anthony Brinker and wife Heather of Marthasville, Patricia Andrews and husband Chris of Washington, and Julie James and husband A.J. of Nixa; brother, Herbert Brinker Jr. of Washington; nine, grandchildren, Alexandria Meyer and husband Dane, Sophia Brinker, James Brinker, Noah Brinker, Aaron Andrews, Adam Brinker, Paxton James, Alaina James, and Adeline James; brothers and sisters-in-law, Betty Parmentier, Larry Schroeder and wife Dottie, Darlene Davis and husband Bob, Lorraine Harty and husband Jack, Harvey Schroeder, Rich Schroeder, Ruth Thacker, David Schroeder and wife Karen, Geralyn Stricker and husband Kenny, Ralph Schroeder and wife Debbie, Luella Brinker, Lorine Brinker, Alice Brinker, and Merald Whitworth; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. A celebration of life will begin at 3:30 p.m. on December 18, 2023 at the VFW Post 2661 in Washington. Memorial donations can be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, or Wounded Warriors.
