Harlan R. Filla, 87 , of Washington, passed away on November 24, 2023. Mr. Filla, son of the late Roman Filla and Rose nee Altemueller, was born on September 22, 1936 in Washington. He received his education from St. Francis Borgia High School. On February 11, 1961, he was united in marriage to Marie Maune at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Washington.
Mr. Filla served his country honorably as a member of the United States Army. He was a member of St. Francis Borgia Church and the Knights of Columbus in Washington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marie Filla and brother, Orville Filla.
Among his survivors are three children, Arline Wilson and husband James of Washington, Orville Filla and wife Darleen of Kansas City, MO, and Sherri Mundwiller and husband David of Washington; sister, Mary Lou Buchheit and husband Don of Washington; grandchildren, Aaron Wilson, Jared Wilson, Sarah Wilson, Matthew Filla, Rebecca Frost, Jessica Kroll, Daniel Mundwiller, Joshua Mundwiller, and Andrew Mundwiller; great-grandchildren, Griffin, Austin, Oliver, Skylar, Michael, and Alexandria, ; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023 from 4-8 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at the St. Francis Borgia Church. Interment, with full military honors will be at the St. Francis Borgia Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the St. Francis Borgia Church.
