H. Jean Koirtyohann Obituary

Helen “Jean” Koirtyohann, 98, of New Haven, passed away on October 23, 2020. Jean was the daughter of the late Glenn Gall and wife Pearl nee Morris. She was born on January 25, 1922 in St. Louis, MO. On June 22, 1945 she married her husband Oscar Koirtyohann in New Port, MO. She was a life-long member of the New Port Presbyterian Church, a member of the Rural Letter Carriers Association, cherished working with the Meals on Wheels delivery in New Haven, and participated in many civic organizations. Jean was rooted in the family farm, living 92 years in the same house.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Oscar Koirtyohann.

She is survived by her children, Donna Richards and husband Jerry of Divide, CO, Joan Schmidt and husband Richard of New Haven, and Richard Koirtyohann and wife Karen of Parrish, FL; grandchildren, Patrick Harty and wife Dana, Scott Schmidt, Todd Schmidt and wife Karrie, and Kathryn Koirtyohann; great grandchildren, Joseph Schmidt, Abi Schmidt, and Colby Harty; special friend, Donna Mangles; and many other relatives and dear friends.

The family would like to thank  the staff of New Haven Care Center, for the past 6 years of love and care for Helen Jean.

A graveside service will be held on November 1, 2020 at 12:00 pm at the New Port Presbyterian Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the New Port Presbyterian Church or the New Haven Care Center Activity Fund. A memorial service is planned for December 2020.
