Gwendolyn Kay Panus, 85 , of Washington, passed away on February 18, 2023. Mrs. Panus, daughter of the late Henry Converse and Bertha Ruhle, was born on October 14, 1937 in Granite City, IL. She received her education from Granite City High School. On May 28, 1960, she was united in marriage to Steve Panus in Granite City, IL.
Kay was happiest when spending time with her family, especially her three grandchildren. She loved to read and watch the St Louis Cardinals and the Kansas City Chiefs.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, Katherine Berosky, Floyd Converse, and Farrell Converse.
Among her survivors are her husband, Steve Panus of Washington; two children, Sherry Fricke and husband Chris of Kansas City, MO and Brian Panus and wife Tracy of Foristell; three grandchildren, Cori Fricke, Paige Panus, and Aiden Panus; other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 10-11 a.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home, with a memorial service beginning at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimers Assocation.
