Gladys M. Twelker

Gladys M. Twelker, 92, of Washington, passed away on October 1, 2024. Mrs Twelker, daughter of the late Albert Katzung and Alice nee Wideman, was born on March 25, 1932, in Robertsville. She received her education from the Washington School District. On February 25, 1950, she was united in marriage to Harvey Twelker at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Washington.

Gladys loved baking, sewing, and going to yard sales.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harvey Twelker; sister, Virginia Bartel; great-grandson Connor Owens, and grandson-in-law, Timothy Caton.

Among her survivors are three children, Jane Kohler of Washington, Patricia Gildehaus of Washington, and James Twelker of Washington; siblings, Ethel Frye, Joe Katzung and wife Gert, and Kenny Katzung and wife Pauline; six grandchildren, Karen Love of Washington, Cynthia Vancil of Washington, Scott Owens and wife Lisa of Washington, Chad Owens and wife Jacque of Washington, Heather Sloan of Washington, and Nicole Twelker of Illinois; great-grandchildren, Jaryn Hazel and husband Kevin, Samantha Caton, Blaine Vancil, Miranda and Zara Kreun, Logan, Brooke, and Parker Owens, Abby, Hayden, and Kinsley Sloan, Elaynea Hiatte, Arienna Blackburn, and Milee Twelker; two great-great-grandchildren, Hadley Hazel and Sawyer Garza; brother-in-law, Carl Bartel; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 10-11 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Washington, with the funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Altar Guild.
