Gerald Wagner Obituary

Gerald P. “Jerry”  Wagner , 81 , of Dutzow, passed away on December 26, 2021. Jerry, son of the late Peter J. Wagner and Lillian nee Brendle, was born on September 19, 1940, in St. Louis. He graduated from Bishop DuBourg High School and later attended St. Louis University for additional educational classes. Jerry served his country honorably in the United States Army Reserves. On September 10, 2000 he was united in marriage to Janet Hines.

He was an avid golfer and could be found on the golf course any time he had a spare moment. Jerry was very proud of the fact that he was a founder of the Washington Soccer League.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dennis Wagner.

Among his survivors are his wife, Janet Hines-Wagner of Dutzow; Children, Cindy McMeley and husband Mike of Springfield, MO and Pam Scheible and husband Rick of Washington; step-daughter, Michelle Hines of Villa Ridge; siblings, Joan Carnaghi of St. Louis and Jack Wagner of California; seven grandchildren, Liz Merciez, Katie Scheible, Zachary McMeley, Cameron McMeley, Micih Hines, Reigen Hines, and Mia Hines: One great granddaughter, Millie Merciez; in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many loved ones.

Visitation will be held on Thursday December 30, 2021 from 3-6 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at the Funeral home following the visitation at 6:00 p.m.

Memorial Donations can be made to St. Vincent’s Church or School.
