George Thomas “Tom” Hausmann, passed away peacefully at his home in Venice, Florida at the age of 82. Tom was born September 7, 1942, to Carl and Gertrude Martin Hausmann in Washington, MO. Tom grew up in Washington, served in Army Reserves, and worked as an assembly man at Chrysler. He was a member of the Elks, American Legion, American Vets, and the Moose Lodge.
Tom watched the St. Louis Cardinals regularly keeping score in his own score book. Tom spent much of his retirement as an avid golfer getting several holes in one. He served as the Exalted Ruler for the Washington Elks Lodge and was a driving force putting the Elks drug awareness program in many schools in Franklin and Warren Counties, working closely with the DARE program. Tom was adventurous traveling to South America and Asia.
Tom’s biggest joy was spending time with his grandkids. He cheered them on at sporting activities, music performances, theatre performances, and graduations.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and special friend, Judy Fiedler.
He is survived by his daughters Cheryl Reigel (Tim), Washington, MO and Connie Gabel (Todd) Fenton, MO, his sister Gretchen Hausmann (J.T. Mason) Carmel CA, his grandchildren, Dalton Gabel, Jada Reigel, Davis Gabel, Shayanne Reigel, Annika Gabel, and Kade Reigel, significant other Brenda Stemmler, niece Cassidy Hausmann-Mason, other relatives and many friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. at the Elks Lodge in Washington.
