Frieda Reichardt Obituary

Frieda Reichardt, nee Proksch 89, Washington passed away January 17, 2022; 8 days short of her 90th birthday. She was born January 25, 1932 in Austria.

As a child in Europe she enjoyed going to school, church, skiing, sled riding, gardening, and cooking with her mother. As a young lady she and her friends would go to dances, where she met her husband William Leslie. On May 25, 1955 she married William Leslie in Granite City, IL. She was a homemaker and raised a family of 4 children. She lived most of her life in Franklin County: Robertsville, Labadie, and Spring Bluff. No matter where she was, she always had many gardens and many friends. She was a breast cancer survivor. She celebrated 10 years cancer free with a trip to her birth place in Europe accompanied by her children and their spouses.

After her kids were raised, she started cleaning homes and worked at St. John’s Mercy hospital where she retired in 2003. Later in life, she met a widower, Charles Reichardt. Whom she married in October 2003. They enjoyed farm life and raising cattle for 13 yrs. They shared a love of gardening and animals. She never knew a stranger, she always saw the best in people and would help anyone. She lived a full and happy life. Her family is proud of the giving, courageous, tough woman/mother she was. The family would like to thank Victorian Place of St. Clair, The Arbors at South Pointe Dementia Care and Heartland Hospice of Washington for the wonderful care they provided. She always would say “I have good kids!!”
