Evelyn B. Lakebrink, 93, of Washington, passed away on February 21, 2024. Mrs. Lakebrink, daughter of the late Dr. John P. Post and Mimi Wallmeier, was born on September 10, 1930 in Washington. She received her education from St. Francis Borgia High School. On June 16, 1951, she was united in marriage to Marvin E. Lakebrink and St. Francis Borgia Church.
Mrs. Lakebrink had a love for music, especially the piano. She was an instructor for many years and was also the pianist for the Civic Chorus. She enjoyed gardening, ceramics, painting, and playing bridge. But most of all she loved her family and visiting with all of them.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin E. Lakebrink; daughter, Diane Lakebrink Schnelt; siblings, Dr. John Post, Marian Post Struckhoff, David Post, and Jackie Post Miller.
Among her survivors are her children, Linda Kelly and husband Mike of Chesterfield, John Lakebrink of Chesterfield, Mimi Nelson and husband Jim of Wentzville, Anita Eckelkamp and husband Jim of Washington, Mary Ronchetto and husband Gene of Woodlands, TX, Tom Lakebrink and wife Cathy of Liberty, MO, Theresa Lakebrink of Warrenton, and Jeanne Dicks and husband Ted of Sewell, NJ; grandchildren, Mike Kelly and wife Mariam, Brian Kelly and significant other Samantha, Mark Schnelt and wife Tonia, Thomas Schnelt, Kathryn Wallach and husband Adam, Nick Eckelkamp and wife Jaimee, Erica Ronchetto and husband Alex, Andrew Ronchetto and wife Lorena, Matthew Lakebrink and wife Emily, Drew Lakebrink and wife Lauren, Jake Dicks and significant other Allison, Joshua Dicks, Carilee Lakebrink and significant other Casey, Michelle McCubbin and husband Brett, Scott Lakebrink and wife Debra, Lauren Krueger and husband Maxx, and Kirk Lakebrink and wife Hannah; great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Marianna Schwane, loved ones and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Borgia Church. Interment will be in the St. Francis Borgia Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the St. Francis Borgia Church or St. Francis Borgia Grade School.
