Eunice "Dunie" Josephine Ahmann (nee Meyer), born September 15, 1917, died peacefully at her home on January 5, 2021, in Union, Missouri, at the age of 103. Her beloved daughter and grandson were by her side.
Mrs. Ahmann was the only daughter of Gustave and Olga (Kienker) Meyer, born near Marthasville Missouri. In her early life she was an accomplished musician and in her mid-years became the first active woman bank president in Missouri at the Bank of Dutzow in Warren County MO. She was both a classical lady and a trail-blazing woman who was ahead of her times. She was stunningly beautiful yet humble and modest. She was well-traveled and worldly while remaining eye-to-eye with all she met. She was fortunate that she suffered few of life's tragedies and died quietly at home. Until a few days before her death her extraordinary memory and intellect remained intact.
Mrs. Ahmann was preceded in death by her husband Warner F. Ahmann to whom she was married 48 years and her son-in-law R.D. Smith of Union, MO.
She is survived by her son Thomas (Linda) Ahmann of Mexico, MO and daughter Candace Mahon of Union, MO. She is survived by her grandchildren Thomas (Carol) Ahmann Jr. of Bloomington, IN, William (Masae) Ahmann of San Carlos, CA, John (Maureen) Ahmann of Richfield, OH, Catharine (Dennis) Huddleston of Festus, MO, Robert (Elaine) Mahon III of Seattle, WA, and Brendan (Jill) Mahon of Washington, MO. Mrs. Ahmann is survived by great-grandchildren Justin, Brian, Nathaniel, and Heather Ahmann; Kazuki, Yuki, and Connor Ahmann; Lauren, Jennifer, and Joseph Ahmann; Isaac Huddleston; Sophia Mahon; and Mia and Olivia Mahon. Her long-time companion Ferdinand Girardi resides in Benld, IL.
Tentative plans are to join family and close friends near time of what would be her 104th birthday this September.
Arrangements in care of Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home, Washington.
