Eugene Roberson Obituary

Eugene W. Roberson, 90, of Washington, passed away peacefully at his residence on February 4, 2026. Gene, son of the late Wesley Roberson and Tillie nee Fisher, was born on April 28, 1935, in Rosebud, MO. He attended Union High School and completed his education while serving in the United States Naval Service from 1952-1954. On July 9, 1955, he was united in marriage to Beverly Ann Kingsbury at the First Christian Church in Union.

Gene served his country honorably as a member of the United States Navy and later in the United States Air Force. He was a life member of VFW 2661 and a charter member of the Korean War Veterans Association Chapter 324. Gene was also a member of the Kiwanis Club of Washington and the First Christian Church of Washington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Dale Roberson and twin sisters, Sandy Aiello and Betty Davis.

Among his survivors are his wife, Beverly Roberson of Washington; two daughters, Cheryl Temme and husband Dave of Leslie and Karen Veninga and husband Vince of Union; two siblings, Linda Lewellen and husband Myron of Ocala, FL and Dan Roberson and wife Sharon of Imperial, MO; five grandchildren, Jennifer Fredrick, Julie Lyons and husband Nick, Jeanette Reber and husband Tim, Christie Williamson and husband Dennis, and Ashley Mercer and husband Dan; twelve grandchildren, Symantha Fredrick, Zachary Fredrick, Jenna Fredrick, Gracie Lyons, Allison Lyons, Jane Lyons, Paige Lyons, Selah Lyons, Renee Reber, John Reber, Gregory Reber, and Rylan Mercer; loved ones and many friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 10-11:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Washington, with the celebration of life beginning at 11:30 a.m. Full military honors will be performed at the First Christian Church. Immediately following the celebration of life, a luncheon will be held at the First Christian Church. Interment will be held at the St. Peter’s Cemetery in Washington at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the First Christian Church-Benevolent Fund or the Alzheimers Association.
