Emil C. Wildt, 87, of Washington, passed away on January 4, 2024. Mr. Wildt, son of the late Emil J. Wildt and Caroline nee Schmitt, was born on February 20, 1936, in Washington. He received his education from St. Francis Borgia High School and East Central College. On January 28, 1967, he was united in marriage to Donna Brinker at St. Gertrude’s Church in Krakow.
Mr. Wildt served his country honorably as a member of the United States Army.
Emil worked for Sporlan Valve for over 50 years and retired as a Tool & Die Supervisor. In his spare time, Emil liked to spend time with his family; hunting and fishing, and watching his grandkids play sports. Emil could fix almost anything and could often be found working on projects at his workbench or helping others.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Leander Brinker, mother-in-law, Hilda Brinker, granddaughter, Emily Emmons; two brother-in-laws, Marvin Brinker and George Wingbermuehle and sister-in-law, Judith Lammers.
Among his survivors are his wife, Donna Wildt of Washington; three children, Mike Wildt and wife Melissa of Cornelius, NC, Mark Wildt and wife Aschleah of Wildwood, and Julie Emmons and husband Steve of Washington; eight siblings, James Wildt and wife Margaret of Washington, SR Carol Marie Wildt of St. Louis, Francis Wildt and wife Nancy of West Hartford, CT, Alfred Wildt and wife Marge of Washington, Joe Wildt and wife Ann of Washington, Mary Ann Barrett and husband Jim of New Haven, Charles Wildt and wife Judy of Washington, and Judy Wildt of Washington; grandchildren, Jenna Wildt, Paige Wildt, Alexander Wildt, Kara Wildt, Audrey Wildt, Bailey Emmons, Krista Emmons, and Tyler Emmons; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard Brinker and wife Janie, Karen Brinker, Elaine Wingbermuehle, and Don Lammers; other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be on Monday, January 8, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at the St. Francis Borgia Church. Interment, with full military honors will be at the St. Francis Borgia Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the St. Francis Borgia High School or the Disabled Veterans of America.
