Emil J. Huxel

Emil J. Huxel Jr., 89, of Washington, passed away on December 30, 2020 in Washington. Emil, son of the late Emil Huxel Sr. and his wife Helen NEE Manhart, was born September 2, 1931 in Washington. He received his education from St. Francis Borgia. On September 22, 1956, he was united in marriage to Ruth Hoelscher at St. Francis Borgia Church in Washington. Emil served his country honorably as a member of the United States Marine Corps.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Doris Buhr, Raymond Huxel, and David Huxel.

Among his survivors are his wife, Ruth Ann Huxel of Washington; two children, Tina Schlitt and husband Don Carrell and Jeff Huxel; siblings, Robert Huxel, Mary Hellmann, and Mike Konys and wife Darlene; grandchildren, Jessie, Makenzie, Mikala, Raven, Jackson, Christopher, Jennifer, and Heather; great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Jayden, Jenna, Noah, Dalton, Kiyah, and Adilyn; other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 from 10 A.M.- 12 P.M. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home, with a Memorial Service beginning at 12 P.M. Memorial donations can be made to the Franklin County Honor Flight.
