Elvira A. Yount, 91, of Washington, passed away on December 19, 2024. Mrs. Yount, daughter of the late Gottlieb Haerer and Stella nee Scheidegger, was born on August 2, 1933, in Hermann. She received her education from Hermann High School. On April 20, 1952, she was united in marriage to Oman Yount at the Bethany U.C.C. in Big Berger, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oman Yount; sister-in-law, Gloria Haerer and brother-in-law, Howard Rohlfing.
Among her survivors are two children, Deborah Buddemeyer and husband Terry of Washington and Jim Yount and wife Gina of Washington; two siblings, Bernell Haerer of Springfield, MO and Mildred Rohlfing of New Haven; grandchildren, Abby Bell of St. Louis, Emily Mueller and husband Nick of Krakow, Mark Buddemeyer and wife Cynthia of Wildwood, and Matthew Buddemeyer and wife Erica of Washington; great-grandchildren, Payton and Charlotte Bell, Evelyn Mueller, and Ava Buddemeyer; loved ones and friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024, from 9-11 a.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home, with a funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the New Haven Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the VFW Post 2661 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
