Elizabeth Frankenberg Obituary

Elizabeth "Betty" Frankenberg, 88, of Washington, passed away on August 9, 2025. Mrs. Frankenberg, daughter of the late Marion Smith and Alice nee Borlesch, was born on March 22, 1937, at home in Bem MO. She graduated from Herman High School. On May 18, 1957, she was united in marriage to Raymond Frankenberg Sr. at St. Francis Borgia Church.
 

Betty was known for her skill with needle and thread, sewing, knitting and crocheting. She and Ray owned Fashion Crossroads and Betty Ray’s Yarn Shop. The door was always open at her home on Walnut Street. Laughter and warmth filled the house. Above all, Betty cherished the company of her family, always finding joy in the simple things in life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond Frankenberg Sr; three siblings, Lela Sehrt and husband Wally, Becky Krawitz and husband Dick, and Sonny Smith.

Among her survivors are her children, Raymond Frankenberg II and wife Debi of Washington, Mark Frankenberg and wife Georgia of Washington, Diane Glastetter and husband Steve of Washington, and Jared Frankenberg and wife Kelly of Washington; sister, Margaret Wildt and husband James of Washington; grandchildren, Ray Frankenberg III, Nichole, Alexandra, Brooke, Kayla, Brehan, Steven, and Caroline; great-grandchildren, Evan, Elana, Ray IV, Benjamin, Owen, Graham, Aiden, Nora, Emma, Justin, and Rosie; sister-in-law, Debra Meinershagen; dear friend, Laura Filla; loved ones and friends.

Funeral services will be private. A celebration of life will be held at The Elk’s Hall in Washington on September 20th, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Light food and drinks will be served.
