Elinor “Toodles” Dobsch, 93, of Washington, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2023.
Toodles was born to the late Harold G. Hoemann and Kathryn L. Brannock, on July 26, 1929, in Washington. She graduated from Washington High School in 1947. On August 19, 1950, she was united in marriage to William Dobsch in Ballwin, Mo.
She worked as bookkeeper at her family-owned business D&D Auto Repair for over 25 years. She also worked for Dr. Glen Calvin for a few years before retiring.
Toodles enjoyed traveling, movies, music, dancing, flower gardening, bowling, playing cards and above all cooking. She was an excellent cook and especially loved to cook for large family events. She was a very social person (Just ask, everyone knows Toodles) and loved nothing more than to spend time with her friends and family; to Toodles family was everything. She was great supporter of local charities and donated her time for many years to Encore, Ladies Sodality and Elks Auxiliary She was true believer in the celebration of Christmas and birthdays. She always remembered to send birthday cards to all of her 12 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Dobsch, and brother, Harold Hoemann Jr.
Among her survivors are three children, Sandra Brown of Washington, Steve Dobsch and fiance Marianne Williams of Washington, and Tim Dobsch of Washington; siblings, Lyndia Geisert and husband Jim of Washington, Karen Calvin of Washington, and Mona Slocum of Washington; two grandchildren, Adam Perkins and wife Becky and Ryan Perkins and wife Sarah; two great-grandchildren, Karly Perkins and Luke Perkins; other relatives and many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 1 p.m. at St. Francis Borgia Church with interment in the St. Francis Borgia Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the ELKS Lodge 1559 or St. Francis Borgia Church.
