Dorothy P. Sullentrup

Dorothy P. Sullentrup, 87, of Washington, passed away on June 9, 2024. Mrs. Sullentrup, daughter of the late Anthony Marquart and Anna nee Miesner, was born on September 12, 1936, in Krakow. She received her education from St. Gertrude Grade School. On November 24, 1960, she was united in marriage to Victor Sullentrup at the St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church.

Dorothy loved spending time with her family, especially cooking for them. She enjoyed fishing, quilting at home and with her church group. She also liked to attend her grandchildrens sporting events and on occasion she would go dancing, which she loved.

Mrs. Sullentrup was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Victor Sullentrup; two children, Keith and Karl Sullentrup; siblings, Henrietta Ley, Bernadine Diener, Leander Marquart Sr., Lucille Marquart, Edna Hinnah, Rita Marquart, and in laws, Lawrence Ley, Joseph Peters, Leonard “Sparky” Diener, Marvin Hinnah, and Shirley Marquart.

Among her survivors are her children, Kevin Sullentrup and wife Verna of Washington, Karen Sullentrup of Washington, Kurt Sullentrup of Washington, and Kyle Sullentrup and wife Michelle of Washington; sister, Florentine Peters of Washington; grandchildren, Adam Sullentrup and wife Michelle of Washington, Samuel Sullentrup of Washington, Kylie Sullentrup of Washington, and Carly Sullentrup of Washington; loved ones and many friends.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. Parish rosary will be at 3:30 pm Wednesday. Funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at St. Gertrude’s Church in Krakow. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to St. Gertrude’s Church, St. Gertrude’s School, or the Adam Sullentrup Recovery Fund/Checks payable to Michelle Sullentrup.
