Donald John Maune, 82, of Washington, Missouri, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026, in Washington, Missouri, surrounded by his loving family.

Donald was born on May 2, 1944, in Krakow, Missouri, to Frank and Margaret (Gildehaus) Maune. On June 27, 1970, he was united in marriage to Joan Marie Kehr, Our Lady of Lourdes, Washington, Missouri. Together they shared 56 years of marriage.

Don is survived by his devoted wife, Joan Maune; his sons, Brad Maune and wife Kelly of New Haven, Tim Maune and wife Melissa of St. Clair, and Kyle Maune and wife Jessica of New Haven. He was a proud grandfather to Gillyann and Cora Maune of New Haven, Jordan Maune of St. Clair, and Logan and Samantha Maune of New Haven.

He is also survived by his sister, Linda Hanneken and husband Donald of Washington; his brother, Maurice Maune and wife Shirley of Washington; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Margaret Maune; brothers, Francis Maune, who was killed in action during the Vietnam War, and Ralph Maune; sisters, Bernice Washington, Marian Seamon and husband Alfred, and Delores Baker and husband Lowell; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Chris and Arlene Kehr; brother-in-law Arthur Buerk; sister-in-law Sandra Kehr; and two nieces and one nephew.

Don began his career at Zero Manufacturing in April 1968 and remained a dedicated employee until his retirement in May 2010. He was known for his strong work ethic and commitment throughout his more than 42 years of service.

In his free time, Don enjoyed spending countless hours in his woodworking shop, creating treasured family heirlooms that will be cherished for generations. He also enjoyed painting, assembling model kits and creating paint-by-number artwork.

Most of all, Don loved his family. He took great pride in his children and grandchildren and treasured every opportunity to spend time with them.

His memory will live in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
