Dolores J. Schwaller, 95, of Washington, passed away on September 26, 2025. Mrs. Schwaller, daughter of the late William Schroeder and Antoinette nee Gerner, was born on December 6, 1929, in Washington. She received her education from St. Francis Borgia High School. On February 8, 1958, she was united in marriage to Maurice Schwaller at St. Francis Borgia Church.
Dolores had a long work career including St. Francis Hospital, Hausgas, Phillip Transit Lines, Zero manufacturing, American Recreation Products and SECO corporation.
She was a long-time member of Our Lady of Lourdes parish and the Legion of Mary, organizing the Rosary March for many years and making weekly visits to local nursing homes to pray the rosary with the residents.
She took great joy in helping raise her grandchildren, and she adored her great grandchildren who always put a smile on her face.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Maurice Schwaller; three brothers, Donnie Schroeder, James Schroeder, Larry Schroeder, and brothers and sisters-in-law, John Lewis, Cathy Schroeder, Brenda Schroeder, Norbert Schwaller and wife Mary, and Laverne Williams and husband Peter.
Among her survivors are four children, James Schwaller of Washington, Diane Schwaller of St. Simons Island, Georgia, John Schwaller and wife Julia of Palm Bay, Florida, and Karen Brinker and husband Moe of Villa Ridge; siblings, Roland Schroeder of Holstein, MO, Carol Lewis of Washington, and Kenneth Schroeder of Washington; three grandchildren, Jodi Cruz and husband Ernesto of Washington, Rachel Marcial and husband Cesar of Washington, and Benjamin Schwaller of Raleigh, NC; great-grandchildren, Quinn Cruz, Gabriel Cruz, Rosie Cruz, and Mateo Marcial; sister-in-law, Bernadette Schroeder of Washington; other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 9-10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, with a Memorial Mass beginning at 10 a.m. Memorial donations can be made to Our Lady of Lourdes School or the Pregnancy Assistance Center.
