David Sullentrup Obituary

David “Yogi” Sullentrup,82, of Washington, passed away on January 19, 2026. Mr. Sullentrup, son of the late Guy Sullentrup and Anges nee Peters, was born on September 17, 1943, in Washington. On May 5, 1962, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Nixon in Krakow.

Yogi was an outdoor lover, enjoyed animals and an avid hunter.  He loved spending time at Mt Sterling (family farm), game nights with the family, Monday night poker and going to the wineries for good music and dancing.

Mom and Dad had many casino trips and vacations that took them to all 50 states and several foreign countries.

Time spent with family was first priority.  Dad was larger than life, happy to spend time with friends, but also enjoyed “silence”.

Yogi spent 25 years working at Brown’s Shoe in Clayton and especially enjoyed working at Wunderlich Surveying as a Surveyor.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Burton and Doug Sullentrup.

Among his survivors are his wife Marilyn Sullentrup of Washington; four children, David Sullentrup Jr. of Washington, Traci Siebert and husband Randy of Washington, Scott Sullentrup and wife Sarah of Washington, and Angie Skelton and husband Glenn of Marthasville; four siblings, Pat Lubbes and husband Rich of St. Louis, Myra Wunderlich and husband Norbert of Washington, Linda Pehle and husband Steve of Berger, and Diane Werges and husband Steve of Washington; seven grandchildren, Joe Siebert, Alec Sullentrup and wife Rebecca, Jeremy Sherman and wife Tessa, Kelsey Sullentrup, Paige Sullentrup, Nicole Ott, and Jessica Garner and husband Jeff; five great-grandchildren, Henry Sullentrup, Isla Sullentrup, Adam Garner, Clara Garner, and Chase Garner; loved ones and friends.
