Darlene Kolkmeier Obituary

Darlene E. Kolkmeier, 85 , of Washington, passed away on November 23, 2021. Mrs. Kolkmeier, daughter of the late Louis Hamann and his wife Ethel nee Thompson, was born on March 6, 1936 in Washington, MO. She received her education from St. Francis Borgia Grade School. Darlene was united in marriage to Jim Astel, and after his passing, she married Harlan Kolkmeier.

She was preceded in death  by her parents; two husbands, Jim Astel and Harlan Kolkmeier; three siblings, Virginia Scheible, Mary Jane Korman, Billy Hamann, and two brother-in-laws, Herman Scheible and Lewis Korman.

Among her survivors are two daughters, Jean Vollertsen and husband Mike of Washington and Judy Seltzer and husband Brian of St. Louis; step-children, Richard Kolkmeier and wife Lisa, David Kolkmeier and wife Patty, and Jo Kolkmeier and wife Elizabeth Radford; grandchildren, Sarah Page, Laura Vollertsen, Zack Seltzer, Anna Seltzer, Tim Seltzer, Clayton, Jimmy, Ben, Mark, and Kevin Kolkmeier; two great-grandchildren, Emma and Sophia Page; caregiver and family friend, Lisa Hoyt; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 from 11-1 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will be in the St. Francis Borgia Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association or the Parkinsons Foundation.
