Darla D. Kavanaugh, 88, of Washington, passed away on December 13, 2024. Mrs. Kavanaugh, daughter of the late Robert Shaw and Alice nee McGee, was born on April 13, 1936, in Desoto, MO. She received her education from Ritenour High School. On October 24, 1953, she was united in marriage to Eugene Kavanaugh in Overland, MO.
Darla enjoyed crafting, making candy, playing bingo and other games with her family and friends. She loved her church and volunteered for many activities. She also enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; as well as her many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene Kavanaugh; sister, Betty Shaw and great-grandson, Benjamin.
Among her survivors are three children, Robert Kavanaugh of Florissant, Linda Brandt and husband Christopher of Villa Ridge, and Cheryl Lewis of Mission, TX; grandchildren, Crystal, Lacey, Joshua, Nicholas, Michael, and Amanda; great-grandchildren, Tony, Kaitlyn, Hunter, Nicole, Maddy, Jaley, Payton, Ameia, Patsy, Lanie, Hadley, Leo, and Aries; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home, with a funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will be in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the CMV Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
