Christopher Locher Obituary

Christopher M. Locher, 42, of Stony Hill, passed away on March 6, 2023 surrounded by family and friends. Chris, son of Elmer Locher and Barb nee LaBoube, was born on August 10, 1980 in Creve Coeur. He received his education from St. Francis Borgia High School and the University of Missouri-Rolla. On January 3, 2009, he was united in marriage to Shari Wellenkamp at St. Francis Borgia Church.

Chris had a true zest for life and was a kid at heart.  He loved the community he lived in and believed in leaving it better than what it was.  Chris was employed with KJ Unnerstall construction for 16 years as Vice President.  He took great pride in his job in making the community a better and safer place.  In his spare time, you could find Chris at auctions, supporting nieces and nephews at their sporting events or working at Bushel and a Peck antique store that him and his wife lovingly started.

Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harvey and Theresa LaBoube, Elmer and Shirley Locher, and by his mother-in-law, Linda Wellenkamp.

Among his survivors are his wife, Shari Locher of Stony Hill; parents, Elmer “Moe” Locher and wife Barb of Washington; two brothers, Eric Locher and wife Brittany of Washington and Mark Locher and wife Karrie of Wildwood; father-in-law, James Wellenkamp of Washington; sister and brother-in-law, Nicole Schroeder and husband Corey of Washington; nieces and nephews, Zachary Schroeder, Grant Schroeder, Morgan Schroeder, Tyler Schroeder, and Joey Schroeder, Brooks Locher, Reese Locher, and Beau Locher, Cameron Locher, Nora Locher, Louise Locher, and Teddy Locher; other relatives and many friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023 from 2-8 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at St. Gertrude’s Church in Krakow. Interment will be at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Christopher M. Locher Scholarship Fund at St. Francis Borgia High School.
