Christine D. Gunn

Christine “Chris” Denise Gunn, 49 years old, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023. Christine, daughter of Delores “Dee” Shirley and the late William Shirley, was born on September 16, 1973. She received her education from St. Francis Borgia Grade School and High School and attended St. Francis Borgia Church.

Christine was a warm, loving, helpful, fun, amazing young lady. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She always had some words of wisdom to share, be it advice, or something funny. She enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, shopping with her mother, fun escapes with her girlfriends, and gatherings with family. She worked as a certified optic technician for over 20 years. This past year she was employed in the food service department at the Callaway Nuclear Generating Station in Steedman, MO, a position she enjoyed.

Chris is survived by her husband,  Robert “Bobby” Gunn Jr., whom she married on May 8, 1999; daughters, Ashley Gunn and partner Thomas Brim, Emily Gunn, and Lydia Gunn; granddaughter, Charlotte Brim; step-son, Andrew Foust; mother, Delores “Dee” Shirley; sister, Becky Shirley and partner April Grierson; brother, Jim Shirley and significant other Amy Oldham; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and to many dear friends to count.

She leaves a legacy of love for her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Borgia Church, Washington, MO. Following the Mass, a celebration of life and lunch will be held on the 3rd floor of Jesuit Hall, 100 Cedar St., Washington, MO 63090. Floral deliveries will be accepted at this location as well.

Memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Francis Borgia Church.
