Charles Miesner Obituary

Charles J. Miesner, 84 , of Krakow, passed away on May 6, 2021.  Mr. Miesner, son of the late Frank Miesner and his wife Barbara nee Schlitt, was born on March 5, 1937 in Krakow, MO. He received his education from St. Gertrude School and received his GED while serving his country proudly in the United States Army. Charles was united in marriage to Leona Tobben on February 27, 1960 at St John the Baptist Church in Villa Ridge, MO. Charles was an employee of Zero/Clemco for 49 years.

In addition to working full time as a machinist, Charles was the fourth generation of the Miesner family to farm in Krakow. He especially liked working with his cattle and  the new born calves in the spring. Charles was a quiet man with a quiet sense of humor. He was proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grand children.

Charles was a loving husband who appreciated his wife  Leona of 61 years. He especially loved the home made bread  and wonderful meals she cooked for the family. He always said at family dinners that dessert should be served first.

Charles was a faith filled man. He was an active member of St Gertrude Holy Name Society and the Krakow WCU Branch 209. He ran the St Gertrude BBQ stand for over 40 years. He will be greatly missed by everyone he touched.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Mary Miesner and Catherine Marquart and In-laws, Ralph Marquart, Clarence Tobben, John Tobben Helen Maune, and Bernice Marquart.

Among his survivors are his wife Leona Miesner of Krakow; children, Barbara Bock and husband Steve of Joplin, Janet Green and husband Marty of Villa Ridge, Douglas Miesner and wife Beverly of Washington, and Allan Miesner and wife Sherry of Washington; grandchildren Emma Hirschvogel and husband Devin, Katie Hall and husband Conner, Michael Miesner and wife Kayla, Jacob Miesner, Sarah Miesner, Adam Miesner, and Justin Miesner ; great grandchildren, Benjamin, Brantley, Breilynn, and  Brenna Hirshvogel; Rhett, Rhen, Rheed Hall and Owen and Camden Miesner; In-laws, Mary Shipley, Andy Tobben, Herb Tobben, Theresa Leimkuehler, Joe Tobben,  Agnes Dowil, and Anthony Tobben; other relatives and friends.

A memorial visitation will be held on Monday May 10, 2021 at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St Gertrude’s Church, with interment in the church cemetery.
