Carroll D. Walls, 90 , of Washington, passed away on September 14, 2021. Mr. Walls, son of the late Guy Walls and his wife Beatrice nee Schrum, was born on July 20, 1931 in Leachville, AR. He received his education from Caruth High School in Caruth, MO. On July 16, 1955, he was united in marriage to Barbara “Jane” Thacker in Kennett, MO.
Carroll served his country honorably as a member of the United States Navy during the Korean War. He retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone in 1990, after 35 years of service.
Carroll had many interests and hobbies. He loved being an amateur radio operator, repairing antique furniture, boating, and a private pilot.
He was a man of faith and and put all of it into Jesus Christ. Carroll was one to always put his family first, being a loving husband and father.
Mr. Walls was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Lillie Belle Williamson and Joyce Krettler.
Among his survivors are his wife, Barbara “Jane” Walls of Washington; children, Cara Cragg, David Walls, and Rebecca Baker and husband Mike; grandchildren, Joshua Franklin, Jesse Franklin, Amanda Baker, Elizabeth Baker, Jacob Walls, and Zachary Walls; great-grandchildren, Brenna Franklin and Elijah Hahn-Franklin; other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 from 10-11 A.M. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home, with a funeral service beginning at 11 A.M. Interment, with full military honors will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Cardinal Glennon Childrens Hospital.
