Carolyn Riemann Obituary

Carolyn A. Riemann, 86, of Washington, passed on to her heavenly home on January 25, 2024. Carolyn was born in Washington on October 31,1937, to Irene and Arthur Woelker, baptized on November 14, 1937, and confirmed on March 18,1951 at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy K. Riemann. She is survived by her children, Mark Riemann (Rita) of Stanberry, MO; Jane Riemann Pratt (Robert) of Richmond, VA; Timothy Riemann (Angela) of Nolensville, TN; Aaron Riemann (Chelsey) of Maryville, TN; and her eight grandchildren, Jacob Riemann, Benjamin Riemann (Rena), Carolyn Pratt, Bella, Brock and Max Riemann, and Abigail and Alexander Riemann. She is also survived by her brother, John Woelker, and nephew and nieces, Kyle Woelker (Elise), Kirsten Woelker, and Kendra Woelker Scanio (Joe).

After graduating from Washington High School, Carolyn worked as a legal secretary for nearly a decade, then became a gentle and affectionate daytime caregiver for the children of school teachers. She spent a dozen years working for the Washington School District, first in the business office and then retiring from the food service department.

Carolyn was fervently faithful and faith filled as she lived her entire life in the footsteps of Jesus. As a lifelong member of Immanual Lutheran Church, she found great joy in teaching Sunday School and playing the piano for 25 years. She was also a member of the church choir, Merry Mates, Lutheran Women Missionary League, Earnest Workers, Ladies Aid, sewing club, and the Parent Teacher League. She unwaveringly exemplified faith, hope and love as she miraculously survived a critical diagnosis of anaplastic carcinoma. Carolyn was a prayer warrior, tenderhearted, full of grace, beloved by her family and friends, and a shining light and living example of God’s Word.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the loving church family at Immanuel, her cherished friends, and the kind and caring staff of South Pointe Assisted Living.

A visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. in the narthex of Immanuel Lutheran Church, 214 W. Fifth Street, Washington, MO, 63090, with a service to follow at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 3. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Immanuel Lutheran Church and School.
