Before moving to St. Clair, MO., in 1979, Lynn was a resident of Minneapolis, Minn., for 28 years and Deephaven, Minn., for 23 years. She was born in Kirksville, Mo., on Aug. 20, 1926; her parents moved to Minneapolis when she was 2.
She graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in home economics on June 12, 1948, the same day as her brothers Robert and James also graduated, the first time in the history of the University that three members of the same family graduated at the same time.
Lynn worked at Stouffers restaurants in Chicago and Cleveland as a supervisor, and then was Director of Food Services at the University of Omaha, Omaha, Neb., for two years. She then worked at General Mills in the Betty Crocker Kitchens for 21 years before retiring. She enjoyed traveling, classical music, gardening and reading.
She is survived by her dear friend Jacqueline Windler, niece Mollie Hoben (St. Paul, Minn.), and nephews Bill Auten (West Bend, Wis.) and Tony Auten (Columbus, Ohio), as well as two great-nieces and one great-nephew. Her parents Eva and Carl Auten and her two brothers proceeded her in death.
On April 18 at 10:30 a Mass will be offered in Lynn’s memory at St. Clare Catholic Church, St. Clair, MO. Private burial will be at Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis. A Memorial Service will be held at Lakewood Chapel this summer. Memorial contributions may be sent to your favorite charity.
