Carol L. Perkins, 76, of Washington, passed away on January 22, 2025. Mrs. Perkins, daughter of the late Walter Schoonover and Patsy nee Hubert, was born on January 20, 1949, in East St. Louis, IL. She received her education from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville. On January 16, 1971, she was united in marriage to Michael E. Perkins at the Immanuel U.C.C. in East St. Louis, IL.
Carol was a teacher at several parochial schools, where she taught reading, English, and theater. She enjoyed traveling and visiting with friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Thomas Schoonover.
Among her survivors are her husband, Michael E. Perkins of Washington; two daughters, Jennifer Wesson and husband Jonathan of Humboldt, TN and Amanda Wedel and husband Paul of Mankato, MN; grandchildren, Avery Wesson of Medina, TN, Logan Wesson of Memphis, TN, and Connor Wedel; sister-in-law, Kathy Schoonover of Washington; nephews, Daniel and Timothy Schoonover; niece, Susan Wade; loved ones and friends.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 9-11 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Washington, with a memorial service beginning at 11 a.m. Memorial donations can be made to the Immanuel Lutheran School in Washington.
