Bonnie J. Schulte, 85, of Washington, passed away on January 8, 2025. Mrs. Schulte, daughter of the late Gilbert Lewis and Josephine nee Bueker, was born on August 9, 1939, in Washington. She received her education from Washington High School. On October 1, 1960, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Schulte Sr. at St. Gertrude’s Church in Krakow.
Bonnie spent 35 dedicated years working at JCPenney, where she forged lasting friendships with coworkers and earned the admiration of many. Her strong work ethic and loyalty were evident throughout her career, and she retired as a respected member of the team.
Beyond her professional life, Bonnie had a passion for dancing, a love that brought her immense joy. She also treasured time spent with socializing, enjoying the company of friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Schulte Sr.; mother and father-in-law, Anna and Joseph Schulte; two sisters, Patricia Peirick and Brenda King and two brother-in-laws, Bill Sieve and Brother David Schulte “Bob”.
Among her survivors are three children, Kenneth Schulte Jr. of Washington, Peggy Kampschroeder and husband Jerry of Washington, and Sherrie Terschluse and husband Tim of Washington; four siblings, Gwen Sieve of Spring, TX, Leland Lewis and wife Marilyn of Glen Ellyn, IL, Gary Lewis and wife Teal of Plano, TX, and Debbie Olson and husband Ron of Springfield, MO: five grandchildren, Stephanie Miller of New Haven, Kevin Monzyk Jr. and significant other Danielle Murrell of Washington, Kody Monzyk and wife Lauren of Union, Nicholas Terschluse and wife Trista of Washington, and Brittany Backs and husband Jace of Washington; four great-grandchildren, Harper and Kaiya Monzyk, Aspen Monzyk, and Ali Terschluse; brothers and sisters-in-law, Doug King, Laverne Buhr and husband Merald of Washington, Richard Schulte and wife Rose, Rose Monzyk and husband Paul, Kathy Seamon and husband Art, and Jeanette Rohrer and husband Alvin; two step-grandsons, Jared Kampschroeder and wife Milena of Fountain, CO and Brody Kampschroeder of Canon City, CO; two step-great-grandchildren, Maynard and Alphonse Kampschroeder; loved ones and friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at St. Gertrude’s Church in Krakow. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Loving Hearts or charity of choice.
