Billie Ruth Miller, 96, of Washington, passed away on December 24, 2024. Mrs. Miller, daughter of the late August Strobel and Florence nee Hug, was born on June 21, 1928, in Jefferson City, MO. She received her education from New Haven High School. On July 1, 1948, she was united in marriage to Wesley Miller at the Methodist Church in Clarinda, Iowa.
Billie Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family, especially cooking for them. She loved being with her grandchildren and being with everyone at the family farm. Mrs. Miller enjoyed volunteering her time at the VFW and the American Legion.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wesley Miller; son, Robert W. Miller and wife Peggy and brother, Bobby Jo Strobel.
Among her survivors are her son, Bill D. Miller and wife Kathy of Washington; grandchildren, Amy Sanchez and husband Roman of Davie, FL, Julie Cowsert and husband Jeremy of Washington, and Caroline Miller of Washington; great-grandchildren, Kelsie Johnson and husband Brandon, Liana Sanchez, Lynsie Sanchez, and Morgan, Alex, Macie, and Reis Cowsert; loved ones and friends.
A visitation will be on Monday, December 30, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at 11 a.m. at St Peter’s United Church of Christ in Washington. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the St Peter’s United Church of Christ Cemetery.
