Betty J. Peffermann, 93, of Washington, passed away on January 4, 2024. Mrs. Peffermann, daughter of the late James Sellwood and Emma nee Mueller, was born on December 8, 1930, in Washington. She received her education from Washington High School. On April 4, 1964, she was united in marriage to Lester Peffermann at the St. Peter’s U.C.C. in Washington.
Betty started working at Wonder Maid after she graduated high school and retired from there. She loved playing cards, singing in the church choir, and spending time at the Washington Senior Center. She enjoyed fishing and sitting at the Washington Riverfront, watching the people go by. Betty was also a huge fan of the tv shows, The Price Is Right and The Waltons. She would watch them at every opportunity. But most of all, Betty loved her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lester Peffermann and two siblings, Virginia and James Sellwood.
Among her survivors are her son, James L. Peffermann and wife Kimberly of Krakow; grandchildren, James C. Peffermann and significant other, Kaitlyn of Krakow, Curtis L. Peffermann and significant other Cassandra of Washington, and Virginia Peffermann of Krakow; loved ones and many friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. Memorial donations can be made to the St. Peter’s U.C.C. or the Washington Senior Center.
