Bernard J. Westhoelter, 89, of Washington, passed away on August 15, 2024. Mr. Westhoelter, son of the late Joseph Westhoelter and Helen nee Mueller, was born on February 15, 1935, in Washington. He received his education from St. Francis Borgia High School. On January 7, 1956, he was united in marriage to Cynthia Huether in St. Louis.
Bernie served 21 years on the Washington Special Road District.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Cynthia Westhoelter; son, Eric Westhoelter; sister, Rita Straatmann and grandson, Justin West.
Among his survivors are two sons, Cary Westhoelter of Washington and Craig Westhoelter and wife Sheila of Washington; two sistes, Lorraine Hellmann and Gladie Kleekamp and husband Donnie; three grandchildren, Alyssa Stallmann and husband Kenny, Amber Czeschin and husband Jacob, and Joseph Westhoelter and wife Hannah; four great-grandchildren, Elaina Jo and Maivry Jean Stallmann, Clara Jane Westhoelter, and Augustus Bernard Czeschin; other relatives and friends.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of choice.
