Bernadette W. Kriete

Bernadette Wilhelmina Kriete (nee Hillermann) 94, Washington, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022.  Mrs. Kriete was born May 15, 1928, the daughter of Bernie E. Hillermann and wife, Margaret E. (nee Schroeder).

Mrs. Kriete was united in marriage on February 26, 1949 to Leo C. Kriete at St. Francis Borgia Church in Washington.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo; and son, Tim R. Kriete.

Mrs. Kriete is survived by five sons, Charles Kriete and wife Linda, Kim Kriete and wife Linda, Tom Kriete and wife Karen, Dan Kriete and fiancé Lori Ferguson, Todd Kriete and wife Jennifer, all of Washington; five daughters, Linda Hoelscher and husband Michael, Washington, Mary Pursley and husband Stanley, Robertsville, Beverly Ann Gravitt and husband Jason, Jeri Roush and husband Robert, and Sarah McDermott and husband Joseph, all of Washington; daughter-in-law Mary Kriete, Union; 29 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren; a sister Doris Boland (nee Hillermann) and husband Richard; sister-in-laws Marie Hillemann (nee McDonald) and Betty Dobsch (nee Kriete); many other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Kriete was an active member of St. Francis Borgia Parish.  She enjoyed spending time with family, playing cards, doing jigsaw puzzles, quilting, dancing, and walking.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis Borgia, Washington on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 11 AM with Fr. Tony Ritter officiating.

Memorials in memory of Mrs. Kriete can be made to St. Francis Borgia Grade School, where they sent all 11 of their children, or Washington Fire Department.
