Arlene W. Drees, 88, of Washington, passed away on March 8, 2025, in Washington. Mrs. Drees, daughter of the late Aloysius Kopmann and Veronica nee Hellebusch, was born on March 21, 1936, in New Haven. She received her education from St. Francis Borgia High School. On February 27, 1960, she was united in marriage to Paul Drees at the Assumption Catholic Church in New Haven.
Arlene loved spending time with her family at their frequent gatherings.
She cherished her time gardening, particularly her roses and tomatoes.
Arlene also enjoyed baking, especially chocolate chip cookies, which most of Washington benefitted from.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Drees; son, Mark Drees; siblings, Leola Peirick, Evelyn Drees, Ralph Kopmann, George Kopmann, and two brother-in-laws, Joseph Peirick and Gordon Drees.
Among her survivors are her children, Mary Frost and husband Joseph of Town and Country, John Drees of Berger, MO, Amy Mebruer and husband Alan of Warsaw, MO, and Scott Drees and wife Erica of Warrenton; grandchildren, Brittany Henderson and husband Jason, Alex Frost, John Frost, Audrey Frost, Jared Drees, Paige Lynch and husband Tyler, Lea Mebruer, Shaye Drees, and Bryer Drees; great-grandchildren, Bryson Henderson, Aubree Henderson, Lucas Henderson, Landon Lynch, and Bennett Lynch; two sister-in-laws, Elsie Kopmann and Peggy Kopmann; nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 11:30 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Celebration of life reception/luncheon will be held immediately following the mass at Our Lady of Lourdes.
