Andrew H. Engemann Sr.

Andrew H. Engemann Sr., 88 , of Washington, passed away on August 8, 2021. Andrew, son of the late August Engemann and his wife Adeline nee Eichholz, was born on July 13, 1933 in Marthasville. He received his education from St. Ignatius School in Concord Hill and Marthasville High School. On October 9, 1993,  he was united in marriage to Ruth Berg.

Mr. Engemann proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy. He was a member of the the VFW 2661, American Legion 218, Elks Lodge, and the Fleet Reserve Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Phillip and James Engemann, and brother-in-law, Ted Szczesny.

Among his survivors are his wife, Ruth Engemann of Washington; Andrew Engemann Jr. and wife Debbie of Yorktown, VA, Ronald Engemann and Gerald Engemann, both of Virginia Beach, VA; two step-children, Randy Wolking and wife Karin of Morrison and Rhonda Naumann and husband Stephan of Hermann; Foster son, Wayne Brueggemann of Kirkwood; sister, Virginia Szczesny of Natrona Heights, PA; ten grandchildren, Ronald Engemann Jr., Michael Engemann, Jennifer Carriles, Jonathan Engemann, Jason Wolking, Lisa Tyree, Kimberly Schmelz, Stephan Naumann Jr., Jason Brueggemann, and Jamie Davis; fifteen great-grandchildren; In-laws, Arlie Berg, Gladys Engemann, and Dolores Engemann; other relatives, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021 from 10 A.M.-12 P.M. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home with a funeral service beginning at 12 P.M. Interment, with full military honors will be held at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Washington. Memorial donations can be made to the VFW 2661 Building Fund or the American Cancer Society.
