Alvina M. Leesmann, 97, of Jonesburg, passed away on October 14, 2025. Mrs. Leesmann, daughter of the late Herman Sieve and Alvina nee Hanneken, was born on December 30, 1927 in Washington. She received her education at St. John’s Gildehaus School. On June 2, 1951, she was united in marriage to Edwin Leesmann Jr. at St. Francis Borgia Church.
Mrs. Leesmann enjoyed quilting, playing bingo, and dancing. She also loved going to Branson, Clearwater Lake, and taking trips to Montana. Alvina was also very involved in the Special Olympics with her daughter Tammy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edwin Leesmann Jr.; three children, Gregory Leesmann, Tammy Leesmann, Irene Leesmann, and siblings, Herman Sieve, George Sieve, Bill Sieve, Anna Koch, Leona Struckhoff, Marie Jane Lawrence, Elsie Siedhoff, and Lorraine Kleekamp.
Among her survivors are her children, Loretta Brown and husband George of Helena, MT, Dale A. Leesmann and wife Patricia of Jonesburg, Claudette Hueffmeier and husband Herman of Marthasville, Roger Leesmann and wife Becky of New Haven, and Marvin Leesmann and wife Vicki of Marthasville; sister, Theola Haslag and husband John of Krakow; thirteen grandchildren, thirty four great-grandchildren, and fifteen great-great, grandchildren; loved ones and friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025 from 10 am to 12 pm at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller with a funeral service beginning at 12 pm. Interment will be in the St. Francis Borgia Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Special Olympics.
