Alvin Frank Lanwermeyer , 89 , of Washington, passed away on September 13, 2021. Alvin, son of the late Louis Lanwermeyer and his wife Mary nee Himmelberg, was born on November 6, 1931 in Washington. He received his education from St. Francis Borgia High School. On June 19, 1954, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Schulze at the St. Francis Borgia Church.
Alvin served his country honorably as a member of the United States Air Force. He was employed at Jefferson Products in Washington for over 42 years. He was a member of the St. Francis Borgia Church, The Zero Beaters Radio Club, Washington Elks Lodge, and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus 1121 in Washington. He also served as a Boy Scout Leader at St. Francis Borgia. Alvin was past secretary of the Washington Knights of Columbus bowling league.
He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws, Judy Lanwermeyer, Ruth Riley, John Riley, Jean Schulze, and Rudy Schulze.
Among his survivors are his wife, Marilyn Lanwermeyer of Washington; children, Terry Lanwermeyer and wife Doris of Washington, Duane Lanwermeyer and significant other, Diane Hintzman of Colfax, WI, Jody Hill and husband Kip of Pacific, and Deneen Meyer and husband Randy of Krakow; brother, Wayne Lanwermeyer and wife Shirley of Washington; grandchildren, Sarah Murphy, Matthew Lanwermeyer, Rachel Griesheimer, John Lanwermeyer, Lee Lanwermeyer, Brett Lanwermeyer, Gerry Davis, Justin Davis, Deann Sprague, and Bryce Snelson; ten great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Pat Schulze; brother-in-laws, James Schulze and Kenneth Schulze and wife Anna; other relatives and many friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021 from 9-10:30 A.M. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 11 A.M. at St. Francis Borgia Church. Memorial donations can be made to the St. Francis Borgia Church or the St. Francis Borgia Regional High School Athletic Association.
