Thomas H. Schoonover

Thomas H. Schoonover, 67 , of Washington, passed away on June 27, 2019 in Washington. Mr. Schoonover, son of the late Walter Schoonover and his wife Patsy nee Hubert, was born November 5, 1951 in East St. Louis, IL. He received his bachelors degree from SIU-Edwardsville. On January 12, 1973, he was united in marriage to Kathy Tognarelli in Collinsville, IL. Tom was employed at Ameren as a Training operator.

Among his survivors are his wife Kathy Schoonover of Washington; father-in-law, Leo Tognarelli of Collinsville, IL; three children, Timothy Schoonover and wife Lisa of Union, Susan Wade and husband Duane of Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada, and Daniel Schoonover and wife Alicia of Washington; sister, Carol Lee Perkins and husband Michael of Washington; seven grandchildren, Seth, Paige, Emma, Noah, Jacob, Brooke, and Brenden; thirteen brothers and sisters-in-law, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 11 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with interment in the church cemetery. The visitation will be held on Saturday, from 9:30-11 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Memorial donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Immanuel Lutheran Church.
