Rodney W.J. Eggers, age 86, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at New Haven Care Center, New Haven, Missouri. He was born June 18, 1932 to the late Frank W. Eggers, Jr. and Glessie, nee Schuster, Eggers in Chamois, Missouri. Rodney served his country as a member of the United States Air Force, where he was honorably discharged in 1956. On April 28, 1962, he was united in marriage to Janet Hoerstkamp at the Assumption Catholic Church in New Haven. Rodney was an avid golfer, loved woodworking, and in his younger years, served as a Boy Scout Leader.
Visitation will be held from 4-7pm Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Miller Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held 10am Monday, November 5, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Washington. Burial will be in Assumption Catholic Church Cemetery in New Haven. Memorials may be made to New Haven Care Center or the Alzheimer’s Association.
Rodney is survived by his wife Janet Eggers of Washington, three children; Ann L. and husband David Klos of Cape Coral, Florida, James L. and wife Carrie Eggers of New Haven and Timothy L. and wife Crystal Eggers of Washington, two siblings; Frank and wife Carol Eggers of College Station, Texas and Margaret Gosen of Ellisville, sister and brother-in-law, Eldoris “Ellie” and Earl Hagedorn of Washington, six grandchildren, Joyce Novotney; Jayme Novotney and fiancé Wes Fent; Brent Eggers and fiancé Brooke Kluba, Blake Eggers, Douglas Eggers, and Elle Eggers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Eggers and sister and brothers-in-law, Rose Moeckli; Bernard Hoerstkamp and Odelo Hoerstkamp.
