Judith Marie Marquart (nee Crews), 78, of Washington, passed away at home surrounded by family on April 29, 2019. Judith was the daughter of the late John Crews and wife Dorothy (nee Briggs). She was born on May 15, 1940 in Sullivan. She graduated from Washington High School and was married at St. Francis Borgia Church on October 7, 1961, to Lou Marquart. Family was the most important thing in her life, and she cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Special memories were always made at their lake house at Mark Twain Lake and on shopping expeditions with her sisters. She was also passionate about the American Legion Ladies Auxillary Post 218 supporting Poppy Memorial.
She is survived by her children, Lynne Kuhn and husband Chris of Rolla, Jeff Marquart and wife Dawn of Washington, Melissa Marquart-Tobben of Kirkwood; siblings, Mary Ann and husband Oscar Rodes of Washington, Elaine and husband Marvin Borgers of Foristell; grandchildren, Shelby and husband Sam Hirschman, Jared Kuhn, Libby, Madeline, Tess, and Ben Marquart, and Jamie and Justin Tobben; great grandchild, Emelia “Emmy Lu” Hirschman; siblings-in-law, Thelma Schmuke, Jerry and wife Ruthie Marquart, Maury Marquart, Shank and wife Kathleen Marquart, and Carol and husband Kenn Obermark; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lou Marquart; brothers-in-law, infant Ken Marquart, Rich and Moe Marquart, Butch Marquart, Spud Schmuke; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Marquart.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 3, 2019, from 4-8:00 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home, 1206 Jefferson St., Washington, Missouri 63090. The Mass will be on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at St. Francis Borgia Church at 10:00 a.m. Officiating the mass is Rev. Joseph Wormek. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Borgia Church or American Legion Auxillary Post 218 to support the Poppy Memorial.
