Jeffrey "JR" Smith

Jeffrey R. “JR” Smith, 53, of St. Peters, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2018. Jeff was the son of the late Donald Smith and Geraldine Nee Schlafer of Augusta, MO, he was born on April 6, 1965 in St. Louis. Mr. Smith enjoyed spending time outdoors and hunting, he was also passionate about music and world history. He graduated in 1983 from Washington High School and continued his education at the University of Missouri-Rolla with an engineering degree followed by his professional engineering license.

A public visitation will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Miller Funeral Home. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to Siteman Cancer Center for the research of Melanoma cancer.

JR is survived by his mother, Geraldine Smith of Augusta, his brother Warden and wife Anita Smith of Augusta, nephews George, Jake, and Calvin of Augusta, and special uncle Skip Schalfer of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

JR is preceded in death by his father Donald Smith.
