Janice E. (Richards) Hardesty

Janice Hardesty (nee Richards), 67, of Union, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at her home. Janice was born on January 12, 1952 in Poplar Buff, Missouri, to the late William and Eva Richards. On October 14, 1983, she married her husband, Fred Hardesty in downtown, St. Louis. Together they had one child and Fred adopted Janice’s oldest son.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, William, and Joe Richards.

She is survived by her husband, Fred Hardesty of Union; children, Chris Hardesty and wife Lynn of Washington, and Carol Hardesty of Union; step children, Lisa Huie and husband Joel of Belleville, IL, and Steven Hardesty; sisters, Patricia Kocurek and husband Nick, and Vicki Herman and husband Gary; grandchildren, Christian II, Kyra, and Cory Hardesty, and Derek, Blake, and Tyler Cummins; she is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2019, at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home from 1:00 pm until the start of the funeral service at 3:00 pm. Memorials are appreciated to the Breast Cancer Research at Siteman Cancer Center or to the Epilepsy Foundation of Missouri and Kansas.
