George Schrecengost Obituary

George E. Schrecengost

1930-2018

George E. Schrecengost, 87, beloved husband and father, passed away Friday, August 3, 2018, in Washington, Missouri. George was united in marriage to Dorothy Donegan on June 27, 1953, in Mineral Ridge, Ohio.  George worked at RTI/Tradco as President and General Manager for 60 years.  He loved interacting with the people that worked there. George had a love for the game of golf and in his earlier years was a great bowler. He enjoyed mowing the yard with a cigar in his mouth. He and his wife also enjoyed going to the wineries, meeting with friends to play Phase 10 and Dominos. George got such pleasure in helping people to make their lives easier, he had a heart of gold, and Heaven is even a better place now that he has arrived. He was a member of the Elks Lodge 1559 and the Union Moose Lodge. George will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

George is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Dorothy “Dee” Schrecengost, Washington, Missouri; two daughters that adored him, Debbie Chinn and husband Butch, Naples, Florida, and Lynne Major and husband John, Washington; one granddaughter, Courtney Burnett and husband Jon, Union, Missouri; two great grandsons, Jonathan and Nick Burnett, Union, Missouri; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ed and Priscella Donegan, Youngstown, Ohio; other relatives and so many friends.

George was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Letitia Donegan.

At George’s request there will be no service. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
