Ella C. (Borcherding) Bebermeyer

Ella Christine Bebermeyer, nee Borcherding, 102, was born September 25, 1916 near Stony Hill, MO. She was the daughter of William and Helene nee Gerlemann, Borcherding. She passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 in New Haven.

She was baptized in infancy at St. James Evangelical Church in Stony Hill and confirmed at St. Peter’s Church in New Haven. After graduating from New Haven High School, she continued her education by attending college summer sessions. She taught in Franklin County rural schools for ten years, having taught at Cedar Grove, Pleasant Hill, and Good Hope.

On November 6, 1943, she was united in marriage to Herbert Bebermeyer of Clover Bottom and they made their home on the Bebermeyer Farm. This union was blessed with two children.

She was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Washington.

Mrs. Bebermeyer was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herbert Bebermeyer of 64 years; daughter, Helen Keeton; sister, Florence McGinnis, and three brothers, Paul, William, and Alfred.

Among her survivors are one son, Kenneth Bebermeyer and wife Annette of Washington; three grandchildren, Carrie Bebermeyer of St. Louis, Chris Keeton and wife Christy of Nixa, and Nannette Bell and husband Josh of St. Louis; five great-grandchildren, Fiona, Lachlan, Alexander, Delphine, and Parker; son-in-law, Don Keeton of Springfield; sister-in-law, Erna Borcherding of Washington; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 12-2 P.M. at Miller Funeral Home, with a funeral service beginning at 2 P.M. at Miller Funeral Home. Interment will be in the St. Peter’s Cemetery in Washington. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Peter’s U.C.C. Church in Washington.
