Dorothy M. (Sontag) Stricker

Dorothy Stricker, 82 , of Labadie, passed away on November 11, 2019. Mrs. Stricker, daughter of the late Elmer Sontag and his wife Catherine, nee, Rausch, was born July 11, 1937 in Jedburgh, Missouri.  Dorothy was baptized on July 25, 1937 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ellisville, Missouri and confirmed on May 31, 1951 at St. Paul’s Church in Des Peres, Missouri.  She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church nearly 70 years.   On May 31, 1958, she was united in marriage to Donald Stricker at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Washington. Dorothy volunteered her time at Mercy Hospital, loved going on bus trips, and playing cards.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Donald Stricker.

Among her survivors are three children, Stanley Stricker of Labadie, Joyce Stevens and husband David of Washington, Connie Riegel and husband J.R. of Labadie; sister, Marion Schwentker of Harvester; grandchildren, Jamie Webb and husband Donnie, Krystle Walbrecht and husband Barry, Justin Riegel and wife Ashley, and Tiffany Riegel; great-grandchildren, Randy, Kelsie, Christian, Kaleb, Macie, Garet, Maddox, Ava, Sophie, Emelia, Jaxon, Charlotte, and Jace; In-Laws, Ralph Stricker of Labadie, Anna Mae Voss and husband Steve of Washington, and Alphonse Meyer of Labadie; other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2019 from 10 A.M. – 1 P.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Washington, with the funeral service beginning at 1 P.M. Interment will be in the Bethel Cemetery in Labadie. Memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or Bethel Cemetery.
